the other day my friend showed me a "banana case". it is actually a plastic case specially made for holding bananas. it seems kind of ridiculous and unnecessary, but because a lot of people bring lunch from home, it makes some sense...because some people like eating bananas....hahaah. but seriously. it's like this green plastic case with littles holes in the sides...air holes for the banana? and it opens on one side. and apparently it has been carefully designed to hold any banana of any size. crazy shit.
hmm. what else is new? since i had a good day today, and i was coming home at like 7 and it was already dark, and i was listening to a dance-y song on my ipod, i suddenly started dancing in the middle of the street on my way home. specifically, the electric slide. it felt strangely liberating.
you know what's weird? today i was talking to some september 2nd years (juniors by US standards, i guess, because i'm a sophomore. except sophomores are 1st years in high school in japan) and they were telling me where they all came from. of course they were surprised at my "yeah i was in new york for 15 years" deal, but i think i was more surprised by where THEY'D been. one guy was like yeahh i was in the US, bangladesh, australia, and ghana. another girl was born in ireland, and had lived in ghana, US, italy, china. someone else: zimbabwe, shanghai, new zealand. JESUS CHRIST.
they must be used to making friends.
