hooray

Badminton is super fun. I love finally being one of the big kids (age-wise, anyway) and knowing the ropes on everything. It's also amazing being captain with Chrissie, because we have a ton of fun and get to hang out with Seuf after practices a lot.

Today was the first time I've played actual badminton in about 8 months. It felt ridiculously good. We did a bit of footwork and conditioning, too. Then I got to come home, take a shower, and eat my mom's really healthy food. Sweet!

Ehh...exam studying...about that...

growing up

Tiny things make me realize.
We really are growing up.

oh hey

Wow, it's been about a year since I last updated this. Maybe I'll start blogging again.

I just finished my last paper ever for Brearley. It feels bittersweet - I know I could have done a much better job, and I'm mad at myself for not having worked harder. But at this point, I can't get myself to go back in and edit, and I also can't go through the pain of reading things I don't like and knowing I'll have to change them. I would say I don't give a fuck because it's second semester, but that's not really true. This was probably my last chance to write a non-scary paper (for a teacher I know pretty well, anyway), and I'm sad I didn't get to do my best. I have a terrible habit of realizing and appreciating things too late.

Anyway. I have one last calc test to take and some English creative bullshit to do, then I'm done. 3 more school days till exams?! Crazy.

I've been counting down the days till spring break in the back of my planner, crossing off each day with a red pen. 16 more days. I'm so excited to get back to Tokyo - I miss all these random things about it, and thinking about them makes me smile. The smell of the humid air when you get in to Narita airport, the sign that says "Welcome home!" in Japanese near baggage claim. The convenience stores, the trains, the cherry blossoms. Even the things I used to hate, like the high-pitched, unnatural voices of the salesgirls.

So excited.
